Minor Threat

First Demo Tape

BY Star DTPublished Jun 1, 2003

For those interested in hearing the "how it all began" of the band that began it all for abstain-core DC punk, Dischord have mixed and officially released the recently rediscovered first Minor Threat demo. There are no surprises — you've heard all of these songs before, tuned and refined, mainly on the first Minor Threat EP. So this recording functions as a novelty, complete with nostalgic cutesy photos and teenage boy voice cracks. The sound is exactly as expected — not-so-complete, rough around the edges material. You'll want this probably only as a back up for when you misplace your Complete Discography, or if you're into impressing friends with that ridiculously completist early '80s hardcore collection.
