British janglers the Mighty Lemon Drops called it a day back in the early '90s, but their legacy lives on, thanks in part to their contribution to the iconic C86 compilation. For those interested in the group's '80s origins, the band will be honoured with a new compilation this spring.
Cherry Red Records will release Uptight (The Early Recordings 1985-1986) on March 31. It focuses on material from before the band's debut full-length, 1986's Happy Head.
This includes single cuts, radio sessions for the BBC, recordings for C86, demos, and the group's 1985 cassette Some of My Best Friends Are Songs. All told, there are 24 cuts. That's the tracklist below and the album cover above.
In related news, Cherry Red have revealed the tracklist of their previously promised expanded reissue of C86. It had been expanded to include 72 tracks, with over 50 extras. Check out the details over at Facebook.
