Michael Jackson's Cirque Du Soleil Tour Announces Canada/U.S. Dates

You don't become the richest dead celebrity by, er, lying around. Look at Michael Jackson, whose estate has been rolling out entrepreneurial ideas at an endless pace since he kicked the bucket in 2009. As previously reported, one of those ideas is a travelling Cirque Du Soleil show centred upon the artist's work, which now has some confirmed tour dates.

The tour, which has been dubbed "Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour," will kick off in Montreal on October 2, 2011. From there, the show will travel across Canada, hitting major hubs like Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton, as well as the U.S. In March of 2012, the show will also return to Canada for a show in Quebec City.

A press release explains that the tour is "a riveting fusion of visuals, dance, music and fantasy that immerses audiences in Michael's creative world and literally turns his signature moves upside down." It also explains that the show is "aimed at lifelong fans, as well as those experiencing Michael's creative genius for the first time," so you won't need to be a Jackson obsessive to enjoy the crazy acrobatics.

While the tour doesn't kick off for 11 more months, tickets for the shows will be available to the public on Saturday (November 6) via Ticketmaster. A pre-sale for Cirque Club members is available now from this link.
