M.I.A. to Release "Bad Girls" Remixes Through USB Necklace

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 21, 2012

Over the years, several artists have dabbled in releasing music via fancy USB flash drives, from the White Stripes' mini figurines to the Flaming Lips' gummy skulls. Now, M.I.A. has become the latest artist to put out tunes via a gimmicky USB stick.

Next month, the pop singer will release her single "Bad Girls" on a necklace that comes with a 2 GB USB pendant that's designed to look like the key for a BMW. The drive comes loaded with three remixes of "Bad Girls" contributed by Danja, Switch and Leo Justi, respectively. These feature high-profile guest appearances from the likes of Missy Elliott, Rye Rye and Azealia Banks.

So if you feel like wearing a little musical bling around your neck, pre-order this product from M.I.A.'s official store. The necklace/USB stick will set you back $50 and is due to ship on or around July 6. It comes in a velvet bag and includes an exclusive GIF image with behind-the-scenes photos from the "Bad Girls" photo shoot.

M.I.A.'s album Matangi is expected out sometime this year.
