Metric have been teasing their upcoming seventh album, and while we still don't know the name of the record, we do get to hear another track from it.

The band have released a video for "Dressed to Suppress." It follows the visuals for "Dark Saturday" and was once again shot on an iPhone X by Justin Broadbent. The black-and-white video showcases a live performance by the band.

In a statement, Metric's Emily Haines had this to say about the song:

Lyrically, ["Dressed to Supress"] explores the maze of conflicts we encounter in our attempts at finding and holding onto love; the absurd mating rituals we routinely perform; and the vast divide between the desires our appearances can imply and the way we actually feel inside. Sonically, it's one of the most intense songs on the album. We're already playing it live and it's getting stronger every night. The contrast between the delicate, dreamy opening and the heavy riffs of the verse and chorus match the dramatic emotional shifts we all go through when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, the push and pull of retaining our own identities in love.

Metric's new album is due out September 21 via MMI/Universal.

As previously reported, Metric are playing with the Smashing Pumpkins on their North American tour. You can see all the dates here.
