Metric are going to be spending the fall playing arena shows with Brit-rockers Muse, with only one Canadian date, in Quebec City on October 21. Tomorrow night (August 4), however, the Canadian pop rock darlings will be playing a free show in slightly more humble surroundings: the downtown Toronto streets.
The gig will take place at Union Station at 65 Front Street West. Metric will be starting at 7 p.m. local time on the plaza outside of the station.
The show is being hosted by Samsung Mobile to celebrate the launch of the Galaxy S smartphone. This comes after Samsung's announcement about a mystery street concert [via rgbFilter], followed by a series of not-too-subtle hints on Twitter, including "When's the next eclipse?" and "Looking for some stadium love this summer?"
AUX points to a Last.fm concert listing as confirmation that the performer is Metric. The gig can't sell out, since it's an outdoor free show, but it's bound to have a large turnout, so show up early to stake out a spot.
