Published Sep 23, 2010Attention, aspiring producers: if you've already finished remixing the multitracks from Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, here's your chance to do the same with Metric's 2009 effort, Fantasies. The band have announced that they will be teaming up with Indaba Music to look for supporters to help rework Fantasies for a new remix album.
The Toronto indie rock new wavers have released multitracks from the songs to allow tech-savvy fans to remix the tracks at home. The band are offering up what it calls a "basic set of stems" for free, while an "advance stem pack" will cost you $1.99 per song. The latter reportedly contains dozens of sound files, each containing an isolated instrument.
According to the band, "We know how many talented musicians there are around the world that are just looking for a chance to be heard and this seemed like a good way to potentially offer some of them an opportunity to see that happen!"
Topspin and RCRDLBL.com os also involved in bringing the project to the fans. If your track is chosen for the final remix album, you'll win a cool $1,000. You can register for the competition here.
The winners and album details will be announced in early 2011.
