Published Apr 17, 2012Metric have already confirmed that their latest album will be called Synthetica, and that it will be out on June 12 via their own Metric Music International. Now, the Toronto band have lifted the lid on more details of the forthcoming collection and have unveiled some teaser clips.
Check out the album cover above and the tracklist below. As you can see, the tracklisting includes some vaguely scientific or futuristic titles like "Breathing Underwater," "Artificial Nocturne" and "Clone." The lead single is "Youth Without Youth," which will be out on May 1.
In a press release, guitarist Jimmy Shaw says of the single, "I've always wanted to do a song with the Gary Glitter beat." We're guessing he means this one.
The band are giving fans a preview of the album with series of brief in-studio clips (which are each around a minute in length and in a curiously exaggerated widescreen). Watch a couple of them embedded at the bottom of the page, and see more over at Metric's official website.
While Synthetica will come out through the band's own label, international distribution will be handled by some larger companies, including Universal, Mom + Pop, Arts & Crafts and more.
Scroll past the tracklist to see the band's upcoming tour schedule, which includes European dates and some select North American festival appearances and one-off dates.
