Metric's album Pagans in Vegas has a synth-y, futuristic vibe, but frontwoman Emily Haines is kicking it Old West style in the band's new video for the track "The Governess."
The song has a hypnotic electro-country aesthetic with repetitive acoustic strums and slick, atmospheric textures. Much of the video consists of Haines strumming her acoustic guitar in rustic desert locales while wearing cowboy boots and a wide-brimmed hat. In the second half of the clip, she walks through the bright lights and surreal scenes of Las Vegas. It was directed by Lauren Graham.
