Metallica members Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo are about to host a special Ontario event as "the Wedding Band," where they will be ripping through a series of classic rock covers.

The group will be hosting a special event at Richmond Hill's Cosmopolitan Music Hall at Cosmo Music on July 26. In addition to Hammett and Trujillo, Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitfield Crane and former Queens of the Stone Age/Danzig drummer Joey Castillo will be playing a special covers set, promising to take on the likes of Black Sabbath, AC/DC and Billy Idol.

The event page describes the special show like this:

The Wedding Band is not just your typical cover band. Actually maybe they are… But the band members are certainly not typical. We're extremely excited to welcome Kirk Hammett joined by his good friends Rob Trujillo, Whitfield Crane, and Joey Castillo for a special event. This unlikely bunch is coming to play all your favorite classic covers from bands like AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Billy Idol and more. This is going to be an event you'll never forget — don't miss out!

Tickets — which are $300 plus tax — go on sale Thursday (June 27). You can learn more here.

The event is in support of the ROM's exhibition "It's Alive: Classic Horror and Sci-Fi Art from the Kirk Hammett Collection," which opens July 13. You can read Exclaim!'s extensive interview with Hammett about the exhibit here.
