Metallica front-man James Hetfield nearly missed his band's Live Earth performance on Saturday when he was detained in London's Luton Airport over what is described as a "Taliban-like beard."
Hours before his band were to take part in Wembley Stadium's leg of the Live Earth concert, Hetfield was halted by airport officials due to his suspicious beard before he was allowed to leave the terminal. He was subjected to a brief interrogation, before he showed proof of his identity, which apparently left security guards dumbstruck.
