In a series of scenarios that feel ripped right out of Lords of Chaos, a New Zealand black- and death-metal drummer has been charged with setting two church fires.

Jacob Lowenstein — a member of the bands Igni, Oblivion Dawn and Secularity — was arrested for allegedly setting two fires at Mormon churches in Christchurch and Greymouth, respectively. The blazes took place on March 11 and March 13.

According to the New Zealand Herald, Lowenstein appeared in court via video from police custody. He was charged with two counts of arson and one of unlawfully taking a vehicle.

Lowenstein, whose bands are all currently active, is expected in court again this week.
