Mercury Tide

Why?

BY Sean PalmerstonPublished Nov 1, 2003

Why? is the debut album of the metal super-group Mercury Tide, which features in its ranks members of Angel Dust, Tiamat and Flowing Tears. The music has influences from many different styles, including rock, metal, alternative — even some goth elements can be distinguished in the mix. The music itself is not bad but to be honest it’s not that good either. While there are few good tracks, most of it is just plain boring. This could have been a really interesting album, had the band taken its different influences and tried to do something innovative. Instead it’s a pretty generic, unmemorable album. I guess if these guys continue, they’ll need to revamp and come up with something better, because honestly, this is a bit of a bore.
