Alt-country rockers the Mendoza Line have packed it in, right on the eve of a new album.

According to Force Field PR the romantic split between married couple and songwriters, Shannon McArdle and Timothy Bracy, is the reason for the "indefinite hiatus."

The press release reads:

"After tons of years, albums, shows & critical acclaim, Athens via Brooklyn band THE MENDOZA LINE have decided to go on an indefinite hiatus after the slipt of song writers SHANNON McARDLE & TIMOTHY BRACY. The band will be releasing one more record under the name through GLURP RECORDS called "30 YEAR LOW." It features a two disc set, one an 8 track EP of new material recorded after their critically acclaimed album "FULL OF LIGHT & FULL OF FIRE" & a 20 track CD featuring live cuts, covers & unreleased gems from the bands 8 years on this planet.

Their final shows will be a residency in NYC in September & then a well deserved break. Timothy is working on new material & will have a new band & recording which will start to surface over the next few months."
