Memoryhouse Prep New Single for Suicide Squeeze

Guelph, ON's most buzz-worthy dream pop act, Memoryhouse, have been tearing up the blogs as of late, earlier this year dropping the EP The Years (containing the Exclaim!-approved "To the Lighthouse"). Now, the duo of Evan Abeele and Denise Nouvion are getting set to drop their latest blissed-out offering, "Caregiver."

The track will be put out by Suicide Squeeze, who will release the single digitally on November 9 and on limited-edition seven-inch on December 7. Track is a departure from the hazy, atmospheric synths of the group's previous work. A press release describes it as showcasing "a more dynamic and ambitious sound palette for the band, placing an emphasis on organic instrumentation. The single was recorded in rural Ontario using upright piano, a string quartet, and natural drums — to augment their traditionally guitar and keyboard driven songs."

Hopefully this new single means that the band will be releasing a LP sometime soon, but there’s no word yet on a proper full-length. To hear "Caregiver" for yourself, click on the SoundCloud stream below. You can also check out the seven-inch artwork above.
