Members of Touché Amoré, Against Me!, Trap Them and Hope Conspiracy Team Up for New Project

Touché Amoré offer up their fare share of melodic and speedy tunes, but vocalist Jeremy Bolm apparently hasn't quite had his fill, having announced his latest project Hesitation Wounds. The band's first 7-inch arrives April 9 through Secret Voice Records.

The group also includes guitarist Neeraj Kane (the Hope Conspiracy, Suicide File, Holy Fever), bassist Stephen 'Scuba' LaCour (Ex-Trap Them, True Cross) and drummer Jay Weinberg (Against Me!, Bruce Springsteen and Madball), and the band came together last May in Arizona to put together the mini-release. Apparently, not all of the members had even met when Bolm invited them out for the sessions.

According to Bolm, the theme of the weekend was to "write as many songs as we can on Sunday and record them on Monday." A five-hour writing session yielded three songs and an intro, and the singer described the results as "an abrasive/no-strings-attached outpouring of fast and heavy hardcore" not entirely unlike their other bands.

You can sample "A. Smith (The Death of a Teenager)" — a fast and furious hardcore cut spiked with melodic chords, a driving drum pound and Bolm's throaty cries — down below.

As for lyrical content, the press release furthers that Bolm's words home in on topics such as "witnessing the murder of a friend, the life and death of the inspirational underdog folk singer Phil Ochs, and the overall reality of life."

Hesitation Wounds:

1. H. Wounds (Intro)

2. A. Smith (The Death Of A Teenager)

3. P. Ochs (The Death Of A Rebel)

4. Reality (The Death Of Innocence)
