Published Nov 20, 2009Last year, we reported that Supergrass members Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey had taken their band's Diamond Hoo Ha Men and spun it into a side-project. The band had announced that they were working on a top secret project under the moniker, and little else was mentioned from there. Now, however, it appears as though the project's name has been changed to the Hot Rats, and the details for the duo's debut album have been released.
The album is called Turn Ons, and is a collection of covers performed by the duo. While no final tracklisting has been announced, the band have revealed that the record will include covers of the Kinks, the Velvet Underground, the Sex Pistols, Gang of Four and even Beastie Boys. Between the band's MySpace page and their official website, many of these tracks can be streamed.
Sweetening the deal, Turn Ons was recorded by Radiohead super-producer Nigel Godrich. It will be available on January 19 via Fat Possum.
