Members of Said the Whale, Mother Mother, Yukon Blonde, the Belle Game Team Up for New Year's Covers Concert in Vancouver
Every New Year's Eve, a handful of Vancouver musicians team up for a collaborative covers night called One Night Stand. This year marks the sixth instalment of the series, and it's shaping up to be another stellar night of cover tunes.

This year's participants include Tyler Bancroft and Spencer Schoening of Said the Whale, Jasmin Parkin of Mother Mother, Jeff Innes of Yukon Blonde, Andrea Lo of the Belle Game, Tariq Hussain of Brasstronaut, Laura Smith and Andrew Braun of Rococode, Adaline, and Dominique Fricot. More special guests will also be on hand.

These players will be backed by Robert Tornroos (In Medias Res), Robbie Driscoll (Hannah Georgas), Peter Carruthers (Siskiyou), Andrew Rasmussen (Hey Ocean!) and Johnny Andrews (Hey Ocean!).

Evidently past editions of One Night Stand have been successful, since this year's event will take place at the Rickshaw Theatre, which is much larger than the previous venue, the Media Club. Early bird tickets are already sold out, and advance tickets cost $35. They're available here or in-store at Zulu Records and Red Cat Records.

Prospective attendees can suggestive cover songs for the ensemble to play at Facebook or by using the hashtag #onenightstandVI on Twitter.
