Published Apr 27, 2010The cross-pollination of Arcade Fire and the National is happening so often that we wouldn't be surprised if both bands teamed up for a collaborative album in the future. Not only is the Arcade Fire's multi-instrumentalist Richard Reed Parry all over the National's hotly anticipated new High Violet LP, but we've now learned that members of both groups have teamed up for the debut album from Montreal's Little Scream.
According to HitFix [via Consequence of Sound], Little Scream's record will feature both the National's Aaron Dessner and Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry. The project is the moniker of Montreal songstress Laurel Sprengelmeyer, and it will be her first full-length.
"It's pretty dynamic, by that I mean it goes from really kind of bombastic to really more quiet and has lots of different sounds in it," Sprengelmeyer said.
Dessner added his support, saying that "it's going to be a really great record." While he didn't give many details, he mentioned that he "plays sparkly guitar" on one of Little Scream's tracks, adding, "It's turning out to be one of my favourite tracks for sure."
Sprengelmeyer suggested that curious fans keep an eye on her website as more details emerge on the album's release.
