The Melvins Announce New 'The Bulls & the Bees' EP
The Melvins' big week just got bigger, as the iconic and supremely prolific sludgesters have announced a new, free digital EP called The Bulls & the Bees will drop on March 13.

A press release explains that the five-song effort comes courtesy of the band and car company Scion, which will deliver the EP as a free download on its website. These will be the first new Melvins tunes since their 2010 album The Bride Screamed Murder.

Considering the group's 30 years of unpredictableness, it's unclear just what fans can expect from the collection, though guitarist/singer Buzz Osborne praised The Bulls & the Bees for being "amazing in its noisy calm intensity." Opening number "The War on Wisdom" is set to hit the web this Friday (February 24).

As previously reported, the often ear-splitting outfit band have the decidedly softer Freak Puke LP, which delivers "lite" versions of older Melvins tunes, set for a June 5 release on Ipecac Recordings, and an upcoming split-seven-inch with tourmates Unsane that will find the acts covering each other is also on the way.

Also in the works is an upcoming split twelve-inch series coming up on Amphetamine Reptile that will pair the Melvins with the likes of OFF!, Fucked Up, Mudhoney, Butthole Surfers, and more.
