The Melodic Detail Debut EP for Anti-, Share New Song

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 3, 2013

Earlier this year, English genre-mashers the Melodic became the latest act signed to Anti-, and now they've confirmed the details of their debut EP for the esteemed label. On My Way is due out on June 25.

The EP is made up of four songs and, as previously discussed, mixes wide-ranging influences including Belle & Sebastian, the Magnetic Fields, the Decemberists, Paul Simon, and Bert Jansch, in addition to music from Latin American, Africa and the Caribbean. This style was inspired by the cultural diversity of Brixton, the London district from which they originate.

On My Way's tracklist is below, and scroll past that to stream the title track. It's a folksy, skiffle-tinged jig with acoustic instrumentation and quiet duet vocals.

Also below, see the Melodic's upcoming tour schedule, which includes a number of U.S. dates but bypasses Canada.
