Published Jan 13, 2015Ottawa music organization MEGAPHONO was founded a few years ago, and now it's getting its very own festival. This will take place from February 3 to 5, and it will showcase 40 artists.
There's a special emphasis on local talent, and performers from in and around Ottawa include Last Ex, Jeremy Fisher, Hilotrons, Evening Hymns, Jim Bryson, Amanda Rheaume, and Steve Adamyk Band. As for the out-of-towners, there will be performances from U.S. Girls, Crosss, Socalled, Heat and others.
A number of venues will host shows, and a press release promises to "take guests on a magical mystery trip around the city to explore a diverse palette of musical riches (and maybe some microbrews)." Beyond that, the festival will also offer panels, including one with A Tribe Called Red's Ian "Deejay NDN" Campeau.
The complete schedule can be seen here.
Full festival passes cost $75 and can be purchased at MEGAPHONO's website. Single-day passes, individual day tickets and other options are also available.
