Megan Hamilton

'Snow Moon' (EP stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 29, 2013

For Megan Hamilton's first recording since 2009, the Ontario songwriter recruit Jim Bryson as her producer. The product of that collaboration is Snow Moon, a three-song digital EP that's out on August 6. Before then, stream the songs here on Exclaim.ca.

The songs were laid down with Bryson at North of Princess Recording Studio in Kingston, ON, while guest musicians contributed to arrangements that include guitars, violin, double bass, piano and ukulele.

The subtly ornate instrumentation shines on expansive opener "I Paid My Way in Pennies." This song, like the other two tunes include here, is a delicate folk number that highlights Hamilton's fragile, emotive voice.

Following some touring in the coming months, Hamilton will head back into the studio to record a full-length with Bryson in the winter. See her upcoming tour schedule here and stream Snow Moon below.
