We're not sure about you, but this week's Can't Miss Concerts, from March 24 to 30, already has us amped up for the weekend, and it's not even Friday yet. Plus, based on this week's roundup, Thursday night seems to be giving its weekly successor a pretty good run for its money. For even more live music, head over to our Concert Listings pages so you can be sure to get your fix.

Matt Andersen

We've all heard that the Maritimes know how to party, so wouldn't it make sense to get down with their most raucous performer? Matt Andersen might just be the best Canadian Americana act you've never heard of, but his latest record, Honest Man, is out to change that. Join him at one of his two upcoming dates in Ottawa or Montreal and let him bring the Atlantic to you.

Chairlift

Chairlift are no stranger to baring it all in public, so we're certain their live show will move you in all kinds of ways — physically and emotionally. Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret is gearing up to welcome the Brooklyn pop duo this week, and you should be too. Prepare to fly high as the pair bring us the "boldest album of their young career," Moth.

Metric / Death Cab for Cutie

In case you missed them last week, you've got one more chance to catch these two indie rock acts in Southern Ontario on their current Lights on the Horizon tour before they head west. Best of all, one dollar from every ticket sale during Metric's Canadian tour will go to the David Suzuki Foundation to help secure environmental rights. Good music and good vibes — what's not to love?

Counterparts

It seems Hamilton metalcore outfit Counterparts have been on the run after releasing Tragedy Will Find Us last year — and who wouldn't be? Catch them on their attempted escape from the apparently inevitable adversity at one of their many upcoming Canadian dates alongside Expire, Gideon and Knocked Loose.

Megadeth

Unlike most of the world, Canadian fans have been blessed with the opportunity to see Megadeth right at the dawn their Dystopia world tour. Not to suggest that their later shows will be any less wild and raging, but no one can deny the sweet, sweet bliss that comes with being first. Get 'em while they're hot at Quebec City's Centre Videotron.

Sean Paul

Sean Paul has already brought plenty of much-needed island vibes to the Great White North on his Full Speed Canadian promo tour over the past month. This week, he continues to bring his beachy jams west, giving prairie and mountain-dwellers a much-needed stay-cation.

Thao & the Get Down Stay Down

Thao & the Get Down Stay Down are making their way up the coast this week with A Man Alive in tow, a record that surpassed our expectations and gives us a sense of just how good their show might be. Get in on the Get Down at the Cobalt on March 27, where they'll be sharing the stage with Seattle-based outfit Car Seat Headrest.

03/27/2016 Vancouver, BC – The Cobalt

Porches / Alex G

These two Domino Records labelmates are arriving as a package deal that's not to be missed. Porches brings with him his fresh Pool LP, while Alex G reminds us of his impressive 2015 Domino debut Beach Music. We have a feeling these tickets won't be so cheap next time they come around, so do yourself a favour and mark your calendar with this one.

03/26/2016 Vancouver, BC – The Cobalt

Lucinda Williams

Lucinda Williams is granting us not one but two chances to see her in Toronto this week, but be aware that they are her only Canadian dates on her promotional tour for her latest release, The Ghosts of Highway 20. If sweet, Southern Americana is your cup of tea, make the most of your weekend and watch Williams do what she does best.
