Tool are one of those "no phones at shows" bands, and one fan discovered what happens when you violate their policy: you get cussed out by frontman Maynard James Keenan.
While playing "Intolerance" in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (February 14), Keenan paused to yell at a fan in the front row, shouting, "Put your fucking phone away, dickhead! Seriously!" Maybe the guy was simply on his phone admiring Keenan's hideous new album cover?
Ironically, the moment was captured by someone else who was also filming, and the footage was posted on Reddit. Watch the footage below.
Tool are one of a number of bands who discourage fans from using their phones to record shows — although, unlike Jack White, they don't require fans to lock up their phones in one of those Yondr pouches. Tool usually allow fans to record the final song of the night, which is typically "Stinkfist."
