Matthew Herbert Returns as Herbert for 'Part Six' EP

While Matthew Herbert has remained as busy as ever recently, it's been eight years since the electronic explorer released music under his house-oriented mononym Herbert. That will charge this month, since he has an EP called Part Six due out on vinyl on June 23 and digitally on June 29 via Accidental Records.

This four-song record is the sixth in a series of EPs that hasn't had a new instalment since the mid-'90s. A press release uses descriptions like "warm slice of summer house," "perpetual club track," "twisted electronics" and "acid house workout."

That's Part Six's artwork above. Scroll past that the tracklist to hear opening cut "One Two Three" (which is the aforementioned "warm slice of summer house"). This bright, melodic electronic track features vocals from Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne of Hejira.

This apparently won't be the last in the EP series, so fans will likely get Part Seven before too long.

Part Six:

1 One Two Three

2 Manny

3 My DJ

4 Grab That Bottle
