Yellowknife-born, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Matt Millz traded in the comforts of small-town rural life a few years back to work as a session musician and producer in the big city. He's now stepping into the spotlight himself with a brand new single called "Linin' Up," which Exclaim.ca is pleased to premiere.
Fancying himself a "crazy dreamer," Millz writes music about what he knows. "There are undertones within the music — a fallen relationship, a battle with your innermost demons," he said in a statement about his latest material. "These songs are my soul and I write what I know, and what I've experienced. I needed to transfer that energy from my body and mind into the music."
