Matt Mays has been touring behind last year's Coyote with a full backing band, but the Canadian songwriter will be stripping things down for a Canadian fall tour, which will find him playing intimate gigs at some small venues.
The outing will be a duo tour, as Mays will play on acoustic guitar or piano while accompanied by longtime bandmate Adam Baldwin, who will also open up the shows with a solo set. They have 19 gigs in all, starting in Montreal on October 16 and heading west all the way to Vancouver on November 12.
Mays said in a statement, "I love playing on my own with just an old acoustic guitar or a piano. It's how all of the songs on Coyote were conceived. Late at night in a haze, or with a coffee in the morning. It's how I met the muse on these songs. I've wanted to take that vibe on the road, and now I am."
