Published Apr 23, 2015Back in the fall, Winnipeg folkie Matt Epp released his Luma EP and declared it "the beginning of a new era" in his career. Now, he's pressing ahead with this new phase by releasing a full-length called Ready in Time on June 23.
The album was produced by Rusty Matyas (of Imaginary Cities and the Sheepdogs). It includes a modest eight songs, but a press release promises that it "packs big sounds and ideas into its relatively short length." The songs apparently touch on "orchestral pop," "heavy, fuzzed-out overdrive" and "nostalgic Americana."
For a taste of the album's sound, hear the upbeat, roots-rocking title cut at the bottom of this page.
