Published Mar 03, 2009As promised, Matador is delivering "some very interesting bonus material" with pre-orders of Sonic Youth's much-anticipated album, The Eternal, which the label has now revealed will come with a bonus live album.
As part of the label's Buy Early Get Now promotion, the forthcoming full-length will be packaged with an extra vinyl LP culled from a July 4, 2008 SY show in Battery Park, NYC, along with an exclusive poster thrown in for good measure. Like previous BEGN promotions, the live LP will be extremely limited and only available when you preorder The Eternal at Matador's website or at participating retailers.
And while The Eternal isn't due out until June 9, preordering will begin April 28 and, upon purchase, Matador will provide an instant stream of the album, with the physical copies to come later through the post. Additional bonus MP3's are to be added into the deal, as well.
Also, if you'd like to get a little preview of the The Eternal, you can check out an SY-authored mash-up of the record over here at Newsweek. Yeah, at Newsweek.
