Mastodon's Brent Hinds Announces Sophomore Set from His West End Motel Project
Despite still hitting it hard and heavy with Atlanta metal vets Mastodon, guitarist/singer Brent Hinds had some spare time to recently write and record a sophomore album with his other long-running project, West End Motel. The group's second long-player, Only Time Can Tell, arrives October 30 via Warner Bros.

While last year's Don't Shiver You're a Winner was released as part of a double-set with Hinds's other side-stint Fiend Without a Face, Only Time Can Tell homes in on solely West End Motel and hosts eight new tunes.

You can sample the bizarre, '70s funk-lite number "Burn It Down" over at Rolling Stone.

"I walked into [singer] Tom Cheshire's house one day and him and [pianist-guitarist] Mike Shina were playing the chords and I just started singing the lyrics right there out of the blue," Hinds said of the breezy but schlocky pop song. "We were being kinda silly and had the cheesy Casio island beat on, playing around with the two chords. We decided that it would be funny to just leave it in when we recorded it... so ridiculous!"

Only Time Can Tell:

1. Burn It Down
2. El Myr
3. Witch Is Dead
4. If I Only Had Tomorrow (Second Chances)
5. Forgiveness
6. Only Time Can Tell
7. Valentine
8. Bite
