By this point, all self-respecting Mastodon fans should know that the outfit's next LP is being dubbed The Hunter. The prog-metal troupe revealed that info a little while back, as well as a pretty awesome video for the new track "Deathbound," though that will not appear on the upcoming LP. What will, however, is that wild image above, which will serve as the cover to The Hunter.
Yes, that's right: in the world of Mastodon raging bulls come sporting three mouths, three tongues, four horns and four ears. They also kinda look like some warped Playmobil regret. But when you consider that set designer/sculptor AJ Fosik did the cover, it all makes sense.
Unfortunately, we still don't have a firm release date for The Hunter. However, the album is said to be coming in October.
