Collaborating pop duo Mary Cassidy & Jon Lawless have had a pretty busy 2013, what with the announcement of their debut EP and the release of several singles — not to mention Lawless's upcoming album Everest with his First Rate People project. Now, the Guelph, ON outfit are getting a helping hand, this time in the form of a remix from Bon Iver drummer S. Carey for their atmospheric banger "Make It Do."
In purse Midwest indie-folk fashion, Carey strips away the song's layers of European thrash and '80s-referencing disco, highlighting the track's underlying piano twinkle for a contemplative acoustic rendition that fully shows the duo's mature and confident songwriting.
