Martha Wainwright and POP Montreal have again teamed up for a series of special livestream events that will see the artist, now joined by other musical guests, singing works by Leonard Cohen, Sam CookeRichard Desjardins and Joe Dassin — with proper sanitary practices in place, of course.

Following the massively successful first round of balcony singalongs held by Wainwright in Montreal, the singer will now host weekly events starting tomorrow evening (March 31) and running every Tuesday night until the end of April.

Read the organizer's statement about the upcoming event series below:

We as Montrealers are proud of our ability to work together through difficult times. We did it during the ice storm and we are ready to do it again. So while there are dark clouds ahead, let us gather together and conjure the spirit, endurance, and wit of our favourite son — Leonard Cohen.

Once again, Martha Wainwright will sing "So Long Marianne" by Leonard Cohen (key of A) and "Le coeur est un oiseau" by Richard Desjardins (key of D). Followed by special guest Clerel who will sing "Nothing Can Change This Love" by Sam Cooke as well as "Et Si Tu N'existais Pas" by Joe Dassin. Martha will close the evening with one of her original songs.

We can assure you that there will be no duets nor physical contact between the artists. The microphones will be disinfected between performances and we are taking all necessary precautionary measures to ensure safety and compliance with the sanitary protocol.

Wainwright hosted her first Leonard Cohen virtual choir back on March 22 from the POP Montreal head office balcony and was joined, at a distance, by a number of Montrealers trying to combat the trials of isolation in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic.

The next singalong goes live tomorrow night at 7 p.m. ET. The streaming link and song lyrics will be posted to the event's Facebook page in advance of the stream.
