Martha Wainwright Announces Soundtrack Album, Books Canadian Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 19, 2012

We're still absorbing Martha Wainwright's latest album, Come Home to Mama, which dropped back in October, but the Montreal-born songwriter has already announced a new release and a Canadian tour for 2013.

The new collection is called Trauma: Chansons de la Serie Tele #04. It's a soundtrack for the new season of the francophone medical drama Trauma on Radio-Canada.

The songs will be released one at a time after each weekly episode of Trauma. The first track will hit the web on January 10, with the full album following on February 19. A press release describes the record as an "emotional and moving backdrop" for the program.

As for her Canadian tour, it will last for a little more than a week in March, taking her across the Prairies to the West Coast. The currently confirmed schedule includes eight Canuck shows. See the itinerary below.
