"With Us Instead" (ft. Owen Pallett)

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 22, 2013

As previously reported, on January 20, Transgressive North and children's charity Love in Action will release Sun Choir, a guest-heavy new album from Scottish indie pop experimenters Marram. Now, we get a taste of that record with their Owen Pallett collaboration "With Us Instead."

The explosive, joyful collaboration is packed to the brim with expansive instrumentation and a backing choir, all of which only emphasizes Pallett's delightful pop vocals. If Sufjan Stevens spent a little less time criticizing font choices, he'd probably be making music like this in 2013.

Check out "With Us Instead" below. Proceeds from Sun Choir will benefit the Everything Is New Scottish outreach program designed to bring food, education, medical care and clothing to children in southeast India.

On January 20, a double-disc charity compilation featuring new and exclusive music from a diverse group of musicians will arrive as well. Called BOATS, the release features Four Tet, No Age, Deerhoof, Matthewdavid, Son Lux, Max Tundra, Dan Deacon, Califone, YACHT, El Guincho, Gang Gang Dance and many others.
