Marky Ramone and the Speed Kings

Legends Bleed

Although a solo record from the drummer of the Ramones sounds about as interesting as a performance by the Pete Best Band, this record has some decent ass-kicking qualities to it. His main contribution to this is the brand name and writing two of the 16 songs. The material on this is much faster and raunchier than the Ramones, which is good, because it's always sad to see the "cash in on former glory" thing in action. The Speed Kings have a Dwarves flavour to their sound and embrace the revved-up hot rod and girls and fuck shit up aesthetic. The four live Ramones songs are a nice extra but the CD wouldn't exactly have suffered without their inclusion.
