Mark Fell Preps New Album for Editions Mego

Editions Mego is one of those frustratingly consistent record labels where, even if you've never heard of an artist, you'll most likely enjoy every release that comes out. With that in mind, your bank account will likely take another hit with the release of a new LP from Mark Fell later this year.

Fell is one-half of the Scottish electronic duo SND and will step out on his own with Periodic Orbits of a Dynamic System Related to a Knot. If you think the title is a mouthful, fret not about the tracklisting because it simply includes the songs "This Side" on the A-side and "That Side" on the flip.

According to an album description from Fell, "The project was entirely written, mixed, and edited with MIDI. No audio recordings were present, with the following exceptions: the sound of a Mac Mini failing to mount a DVD, recorded with the internal microphone on a MacBook Pro (this provided a rhythmic template for the patterns that follow it); and a short section of Pi Saw flute played by Jan Hendrickse."

Periodic Orbits of a Dynamic System Related to a Knot will be available on November 28 from Editions Mego. The album can be pre-ordered here.
