Mark Davis to Eliminate the Toxins on New LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 21, 2011

The last time Mark Davis dropped a new album, he released two simultaneous LPs: Don't You Think We Should Be Closer? and Mistakes I Meant to Make. Now, the former Old Reliable member is getting ready to release another record, and a press release promises that it's "his most ambitious album to date."

Entitled Eliminate the Toxins, the album is due out June 7 via Saved by Radio.

The collection reportedly contains "driving rock, raw folk, effervescent pop, bombastic explorations. anthems and weepers." It was recorded with Lorrie Matheson (Rae Spoon, Ghostkeeper) in Calgary.

Stylistically, the disc "pays homage to musical forebears such as Guided by Voices, Duritti Column, the Byrds, David Bowie, Pan American, R.E.M. and Urge Overkill." See the tracklist below, and listen to four tracks in the SoundCloud player embedded at the bottom of this page.

Once the album is in stores, Davis will hit the road for a series of tour dates in June and July. Scroll past the tracklist for the schedule.
