Mangled Most Painful Ways

Sometimes generic death metal hits the spot if it is played well enough. This offering from the Netherlands's Mangled should satisfy everyone's cravings for 1992-style death metal. Nice riffs, solid drumming, silly guttural vocals and gruesome lyrics, it's all here, done well and doesn't sound like it was made on a computer, unlike a lot of today's death metal. You know there's a big "but" coming up here though, and here it is, this has been done so many times that there isn't even a word to effectively describe how totally uninventive it is - rehashed, yet competent death metal. Buy this if you're a fanatic of the genre, otherwise listen to the classics and buy some new albums by bands making new sounds.
