Male Bonding Line Up Sub Pop Debut, Vivian Girls Collaboration and Dum Dum Girls "Combo Platter"

BY Josiah HughesPublished Feb 23, 2010

Dalston, England-based trio Male Bonding rose to prominence with a series of fuzzy and blissed-out indie pop tracks that tapped into the lo-fi movement without completely aping it. Since then, the band have signed with Sub Pop, and now we're happy to announce that their debut album is in the bag and on its way.

The record is called Nothing Hurts and features 13 tracks. According to some scant information from the label, the album was recorded in New York last fall, and was then mixed by Pete Lyman at Infrasonic Sound.

The tracklisting, listed below, gives some idea as to what we can expect. Fans of the band will recognize track titles like "Year's Not Long" from previous releases, though it's likely a re-recorded version. Most notably, however, is the track "Worse to Come," which features a guest spot from Vivian Girls.

Keep that in mind when both of those bands come through Montreal and Toronto on their upcoming North American tour. Maybe if you shout it loud enough, you can convince them to perform it live. And if you can't catch them in March, Male Bonding will be returning to those two cities when they tour with the Soft Pack in April. All the dates are below.

You also might want to pay close attention at this year's Record Store Day on April 17, when Male Bonding will release an exclusive seven-inch "combo platter" with Dum Dum Girls. The tracks included on that piece of wax are "Pay for Me" and "Before It's Gone."
