Published Apr 01, 2011The recent CBC-driven Hip Hop Summit has been in full effect of late, but perhaps the highlight of the recent events was a performance from legendary Canuck spitter Maestro at a gala event that took place in Toronto this past Tuesday (March 29).
Flanked by fellow MCs K-os and Shad, the hip-hop icon jumped into his classic old-school number "Let Your Backbone Slide." Decked out in -- what else -- a black tuxedo, Maestro Fresh Wes made the other two look like classless slobs as he conducted thangs.
Shad delivered one of the song's memorable verses, while K-os acted as hype man, but for all intensive purposes, Maestro was the star of the show. It was a throw-down, a showdown, and hell no, he couldn't slow down. And it was totally awesome. Did we mention he was wearing a black tuxedo? Damn.
