Maestro

"Born in Toronto" (ft. Rich Kidd) (video)

Canadian rap pioneer Maestro recently weighed in on the racial unrest in the U.S. with protest track "I Can't Breathe," and now he's back with another new number.

This time, he's paying homage to his roots with a video for "Born in Toronto." The track features fellow Torontonian Rich Kidd, who provides both the beat and some bars about their shared hometown.

In addition to showing off landmarks like the Air Canada Centre and Nathan Phillips Square, the rappers spend some time in smaller, less recognizable neighbourhoods. We even get some high-profile cameos courtest of Kardinal Offishall, Shad and Kwajo Cinco from Ghetto Concept.

The song confirms that there's not really anything that rhymes with "Toronto" other than "Toronto," but the clip is a fun one to watch for any 416-ers. Check it out below.
