Published Dec 29, 2009At the age of 51, Madonna is trying everything to stay relevant. From dating newsworthy dudes to churning out album after album of attempted hits, Madge just won't rest until she's on top of the world. Her upcoming 12th album will be no different, with reports indicating she will be reaching all over the place as she attempts another shot at hipness.
As the New York Post reports, Madonna will be vying for some sort of alt-rock-meets-hipster-house demographic for her next record. On one side, she's rumoured to be working with long-running producer Brendan O'Brien, whose resume includes albums for Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam.
The other producer rumoured to be involved comes from an entirely different scene. Namely, Madonna is said to be working with so-hot-right-now electro producer A-Trak.
The New York Post says that "this new incarnation of Madonna will be a blend of rock anthems, legit rap and funky club beats. Or in other words: pure brilliance." As for us, we're guessing it will sound more like a mid-life crisis set to some weird backing tracks.
