Mad Decent Dubstep Dude/M.I.A. Producer Rusko Tapped by Britney Spears for New Album
While we're by no means fans of Britney Spears, we will admit that she's never one to fall behind the pop trends. Just check her out right now: she's reportedly getting beats from M.I.A. producer and frequent chart-topper Rusko for her forthcoming new album.

As FACT points out, Rusko (aka Christopher Mercer) was recently approached by the pop princess's people to produce, prompting him to make a statement in an interview with LA Weekly regarding his stature in the industry.

"They approach me because they want me to do what I do," Rusko said of working on the Spears record. "They don't want me to make a cheesy pop record. I just want to be known for my beats. It's simple. What you see is what you get. Bang! The music."

He then added that "dubstep has become the punk rock of the electronic music world. Dubstep is... Bang!" Simple as that.

The producer, who recently worked with both the Dirty Projector's Amber Coffman and rapper Gucci Mane on his new Mad Decent-released O.M.G., is also the man behind the latest M.I.A. track to leak from the forthcoming album / / / Y / , which is now due July 13. That song is "XXXO," which you can hear below.

Other than South Rakkas Crew label head/producer Alex Greggs also working on the new Spears LP, there are no further details regarding the new album... Bang!
