Earlier this month, a photo surfaced online of Mac DeMarco and MGMT's Andrew VanWyngarden at work in the latter's home studio, causing many to wonder whose record the pair's collaborative work would end up on. Now, DeMarco has shed a bit more light on the photo.
Speaking with Spin, DeMarco revealed that he and VanWyngarden live close to one another in New York, while still remaining cryptic on any release plans.
"He lives in the same neighbourhood as me, so we're homies," DeMarco told the magazine. "I don't know, maybe I should leave it as a mystery. I'm not recording on any MGMT albums, just my own record, but who knows?"
While MGMT haven't released an album in three years, DeMarco delivered his Another (Demo) One collection last month as part of Record Store Day. Alongside work on the full-length follow-up to Salad Days, he's also recently covered the likes of James Taylor and Prince.
