Mac DeMarco Announces New Album, Premieres Single
Earlier this year, former Makeout Videotape singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco delivered his solo debut Rock and Roll Night Club, and the Montreal-based musician will follow up that release with a new LP by year's end. DeMarco's next offering for the Captured Tracks label will be titled Mac DeMarco 2, and it will hit retailers October 16.

Though we've received the release date and some intentionally crummy, peace-sign displaying artwork (see above), a full tracklisting has yet to be delivered. A press release from Captured Tracks notes, however, that while DeMarco's previous work has been ultra lo-fi and warbly, "the fidelity [on Mac DeMarco 2] has substantially improved without compromising the immediacy and organic quality of his prior releases."

UPDATE: You can see the full tracklist below.

Highlights are said to include "Cooking Up Something Good" and the behaviour-assessing "Freaking out the Neighborhood." You can also stream new number "My Kind of Woman", which similarly mines the smooth and sleazy sounds of DeMarco's self-described "jizz jazz" genre, at the bottom of the page.

As previously reported, DeMarco also has a handful of North American dates from now until September, but he's since added more U.S. dates. You can check out the schedule below.
