Jizz-jazz genius Mac DeMarco has revealed that he's got some new music coming our way. His Another One mini-LP is set to hit stores August 7 through Captured Tracks.
The eight-song record follows DeMarco's much-loved 2014 effort Salad Days, and if a whacky trailer is anything to go by, it looks as if the guy had a blast recording this thing.
"I love to play my instruments because it make me happy," he says in an almost Seinfeld-styled accent at one point in the video, which was shot in his Queens, NY apartment.
As you'll see down below, an underdressed DeMarco lays down slippery guitar lines, hops behind his "Mac Piano" to play a mock-ballad about "feelin' so confused," and grabs a pair of drumsticks in attempts to put some "great fills" on another lo-fi number.
There are also plenty of wisecracks, a questionable history lesson during a van ride, and a closing preview of the set's "I've Been Waiting for Her." A press release adds that the collection was tracked in between tours, and generally finds the singer-songwriter crooning about "lost love, or perhaps love never found."
A pre-order for the set is up now over on iTunes, and early orders come packaged with instrumental versions of all eight songs. That's the album art above.
As previously reported, DeMarco is currently in the middle of a spring tour that brings him out for a pair of shows in Vancouver this weekend, and a new batch of dates will have him on the road until September. The recent adds confirm that DeMarco makes his way to Montreal and Toronto in August. You'll find all of the tour info beneath the tracklisting to Another One.
