Mac DeMarco

"Chamber of Reflection" (video)

"Chamber of Reflection" is perhaps the most beautiful, sombrely mellow track on Mac DeMarco's Salad Days, but if you thought the cheeky Canadian pop crooner would tone down his signature wackiness for the music video, well, think again.

The bizarre clip is set to a slowed-down version of the song, meaning that DeMarco's voice sounds unnaturally deep as it drifts through a narcotic haze (think "chopped and screwed" minus the "chopped"). The accompanying visuals are no less druggy and bizarre, as we watch a woman wandering around town wearing a Homer Simpson mask, while the whole thing is filtered through corny, VHS-era effects.
