M. Ward, Chris Walla, Laura Veirs Team Up for Led Zeppelin Tribute Album
Although it's always been considered the ultimate taboo to play "Stairway to Heaven" in music stores across the world, there's no denying that most young musicians wish that they were a member of Led Zeppelin. Obviously, we can't all play in the iconic rock band, but a group of Portland musicians got to play Zep on an upcoming tribute album.

The compilation is called From the Land of Ice and Snow: The Songs of Led Zeppelin, and features the likes of M. Ward, Death Cab For Cutie's Chris Walla, Kind of Like Spitting, the Clampitt Family and the Long Winters, among others. If you've been wondering what the almighty Zep sound like through the filter of Pacific Northwest indie rock, this is your chance to find out.

From The Land of Ice and Snow will be released as a double CD set on October 12 via Jealous Butcher Records. Portions of the proceeds will be donated to the First Octave music education group.

Thanks to Consequence of Sound for the tip.
